Getting Started


Quick Start to User Administration

    A. Steps to create an Organisation

    1. Login as root admin (specified during installation).
    2. Click 'Administration'.
    3. Click 'Sys Admin'.
    4. Click "All Organisations".
    5. Check the drop down menu of child organisations to make sure the name you want to create does not exist.
    6. Click "Create new child organisation".
    7. Type in Name and Description and click "Save".

    B. Steps to create users for an Organisation

    1. Now you should be in the new organisation's page, titled "Maintain Organisations and Users".
    2. Click "Create new user".
    3. Fill in the form (username will not be modifiable later).
    4. Tick the roles the user will have (learner, staff, author, and/or administrator).
    5. Click "Save".
    6. Click "Return to Organisation".
    7. Click "Administration Menu" to return to the top level Administration screen.

    C. Steps to create a Session Class and add users

    1. Now you should be in the top level Administration screen.
    2. Click "Add new Session Class" (root admin only) or "New Class".
    3. Fill in name and description and "Save".
    4. Now you should be on page "Maintain Session Class".
    5. Click "Add Existing Users" (sysadmin) or "Add Staff"/"Add Learners".
    6. From the pull down menu, select the home organisation where the class members are located, and click "Show Users".
    7. For root admin: for each user, select a level of rights from the drop down menu (for this learning session):
      • select the first - for learners, students, etc;
      • select the second - for Monitor access (teacher, tutors, etc);
      • select the third - for the class admin/s (teacher, admins, etc).
      For user admin: check the boxes of the users you wish to add.
    8. Click "Add Selected Users".
    9. Click "Save".
    10. Click "Return to Organisation".
